For today’s texture (and example), here is a lovely sherpa dog bed. It’s a fitting one to offer today: it is COLD here and I know any of the dogs would enjoy cuddling up in the bed itself!
I had a dog come to the set rockin’ her bling this week (she has more jewelry than I do!). While I like the composition of this image from the shoot, the actual photo itself is a bit (y)aw(n) inspiring for me. I don’t know if it’s all that pink, if it’s the softer focus, if it’s the flatness of the pink blanket she’s posed on. I pulled up this photo and decided to give the blanket a more plush, luxurious look to match the tone set by the diamonds and pearls. I used a hard light overlay and used eraser at 100% over the dog and necklace, 50% in the back between her legs and 10% to the upper right, to heighten the way the light was falling on the scene. I also used a perspective warp to make the sherpa texture “lay down” into the set. This still doesn’t make the image one of my best, but it DID achieve my goal!
